Potty Training is one of the most challenging processes a parent faces.

For some parents, this is a rewarding and memorable experience, while for others it can be a frustrating time.

This book walks parents through the entire potty process from determining if their child is ready, to how to handle bowel movement training and bedwetting.

It answers common questions such as:

  • At what age should I start potty training?
  • How do I know if my child is ready to be potty trained?
  • What should I do?
  • How should I potty train?
  • What does potty training in one day mean?
  • What about Bowel Movement Training?
  • What should I do if my child resists training?
  • How do I handle night time potty training and bed wetting?
  • and much more.

The goal is to help parents prepare for this important developmental milestone and make it a positive and memorable experience for both parent and child. We have many other Potty Training in One Day products to help you accomplish this.

4 Stars - Great concept but didnt work for my daugher (Jul 23, 2012) Reviewer: Mama KS

After reading this book I tried doing the One Day potty training with my daughter. I made sure I followed it closely and reviewed the steps several times, but it just didn't work with my daughter.

I know she was ready for potty training because on several occasions (prior to trying to go full on potty training mode)she would tell me or my husband she needed to go potty and there were some nights she'd wake up dry.

I think she was just resistant to the method. I tried another method which worked a lot better and she has been doing great since then. Every child learns differently, so this book didn't quite work for us.

I used these ideas when I toilet trained three of my children. I modified it a bit and only used the positive approaches he suggested. It worked perfectly for each of my children!! However, you can learn all you need to in the first chapter or two. That is all I really used.

While the title of this book is misleading, I would still recommend it as an effective method for potty training. It is really one day of establishing expectations and, in my son's case, a week + of reinforcement. AJ is now nearly accident free, including at night. But, we still prompt him to go, and he usually needs a little help. The diapers are gone!

So I'm in the process of trying to get my son to be potty trained. Nothing has worked so far. I've heard both good and bads things about this book. I'm hoping to get some good ideas from this book to try out w/ my son. I'm crossing my fingers..... I finally sat down and read this book today. This book has some great tips and I'm looking forward to seeing if they work.

It really works! We had failed so miserably with potty training our 4.5-year-old that 3 days ago, he had successfully peed in the potty 1 time in his life. Today, after using the method described in this book to the letter, he was accident free. It wasn't that we hadn't tried before...all kinds of things...but this method pulls every good learning tool together in an intensive program that makes it very difficult to fail. I read the book from cover to cover and went as close to the letter as I could manage. I didn't read any part of it as optional, and I don't think it is. In fact, this method had been recommended to me before and without reading the book, I attempted to do what they described. Only after reading the book did I realize that I had left out a lot of the important details. Since I would not recommend trying this without reading the entire book &40;well, you can skim the sales pitch at the beginning&41;, I won't go into details about the method, but I whole-heartedly recommend this to any parent. We'll be trying this on our 2-year-old next weekend...fingers crossed! Note: This is practically the same review I gave a similar title, "Toilet Training in Less than a Day" because they are very similar. I thought this one had some better information on things like night wetting, but that the other one described the process itself a little better, especially going into more detail about WHY it works and thus stressing the importance of following every step. I did disagree with the idea that a toy could be substituted as a reward instead of edible treats, because part of the process is to keep things distraction-free. Food is a quick, immediate reward that goes away immediately. They'll want to play with the toys, causing distractions. I think they were catering to an overly health conscious segment of the population and doing it badly. Personally, I don't think marshmallows or m&m's permanently damaged my child, but if that causes problems for you, I'd still recommend food -- maybe dried fruit or something.

5 Stars - 2nd generation!!! (Dec 13, 2009) Reviewer: Judy Nathanson

I used this book 20 years ago when training my son and it worked!!! Now I am ordering the DVD etc., so he and his wife can use it to train my 15 month old granddaughter. Back in 1989, there was only one tape of potty songs. I don't remember dolls or videos for the "trainee" to help with this major milestone on the way to being a "big boy or big girl." Back then the book was a paperback and I think it cost about $3.00...and boy was it worth it!
